Seven Weeks old and new adventures fast approaching

Seven weeks old.

It is a funny stage in a litter. The puppies are still very much babies, but you can see the next chapter approaching quickly. The house is loud, chaotic and full of personalities that seem to grow stronger every day.

At this age they are confident little creatures. Everything is a toy, everything is worth investigating and everything seems to involve teeth. The zoomies are real, the wrestling matches are dramatic and the occasional scream when someone steals a prized toy echoes through the house.

But behind all the chaos there is a lot going on.

Seven weeks is when we really start to see who these little dogs are becoming. Their confidence, curiosity and problem solving start to shine through. They begin interacting more intentionally with the world around them rather than just reacting to it.

This is also when the preparation for their next chapter begins in earnest.

New families are counting down the days. Puppies are learning about crates, routine and the beginnings of independence. There are new experiences, new sounds, new surfaces and constant little learning moments woven into their days.

They might not know it yet, but very soon these puppies will begin leaving the only home they have ever known and heading off to start their own lives.

And while that is exactly what every breeder raises them for, it always arrives faster than you expect.
